I just finished reading this (like literally, just finished it) and am totally inspired! I’m not sure if I’m going to do any mountain running anytime soon (or ever), but I definitely enjoyed every minute of your story!

Like Ronan I’m a bit stunned that you cycle on that road – or an any public road in Cambodia *breaks out in a sweat at the memories* Maybe you have more control though with the pedal-bike than a motorcycle as they just go so fast, and have no chance against the 4-wheel drives.

I don’t know how familiar you are with New York, but next time you’re here, try running in Prospect Park if you care for a change of scenery. Prospect Park is smaller than Central Park (one loop is around 3.5 miles), but also very beautiful.
