I’ve really enjoyed being interviewed for various podcasts, blogs, newspapers and magazines about mountain running, adventure racing and my two books, Mud, Sweat and Tears (2011) and Bump, Bike and Baby (2018).
If you want an idea of what adventure racing is all about, in 2014, Channel 4 produced this stunning video of the Helly Hansen Killarney Adventure Race (now known as Quest Killarney) that I feature in:
Outsider Magazine also wrote a brilliant review of Bump, Bike and Baby. Apparently my “ability to train right up to my due date will dispel any rumours that your life as an athlete must come to an end the minute you pee on that stick.”
Podium Cafe did a thorough review of Bump, Bike and Baby, suggesting that, “Far too many recent books telling stories about ‘ordinary’ people taking on extraordinary bike-based challenges have been written from a point of view that excludes spouses and family commitments. Bump, Bike & Baby is a breath of fresh air and shows that the two can be mixed while still telling a story that can inspire and amuse in equal measures.”
As part of Bump, Bike and Baby’s Launch, there was a formidable blog tour. Details of and links to all the blogs that took part can be found here.
In late 2018, I was fortunate enough to speak with Run247 about how great a sport adventure racing is. I also spoke with Outdoors Radar about how adventure racing helped me beat post-pregnancy blues and let me become an award-nominated author.
Run Deep published an extract from my book before releasing a full review of it in the August edition of the magazine.
Ireland’s The42.ie also wrote a superb interview at the end of 2018, detailing the kind of woman I want to be.
Sunday Life Newspaper brought me and my kids on a fun photo shoot for their coverage of what it is like getting back in the saddle as a new mum:
Trail Running Magazine also gave the book a good mention while reporting on my Denis Rankin Round.
The wonderful author, Sue Leonard, interviewed me as part of her Beginner’s Pluck column in the Irish Examiner.
